History

In 2012, Berg Hemker Olson Post 51 started up it’s American Legion Baseball program, this is a nice addition to the community with the initiative of the Friends of West Salem Baseball. The baseball program has three teams an 19U, 17U  and 16U team.

During 2013, the second year of West Salem Post 51 Baseball, the 16U team finished 3rd at State which was held in Beloit, Wisconsin.

During the 2014 season, the West Salem American Legion hosted regional tournament during the last week of July. This was the first major Legion Baseball event held in West Salem.

During the fall of 2014, the West Salem Legion was presented with a great opportunity, to host the 2015 Wisconsin American Legion State Class A Tournament at the Damian Miller Field. To prepare for such an event to take place, the legion along with Friends of West Salem Baseball have held a number of fundraising events to improve the field, which make it a great tournament. The tournament was held from July 29th to August 2nd, 2015.
